Mahi mahi are an offshore fish that prefers deep waters that are warmer—generally over 68 degrees—which makes late summer the perfect time to catch them. They are known by many names: Dolphinfish, mahi mahi, dorado, or mahi. They are attracted to floating objects and are commonly found near floating brown algae.
